Our second Welly Walk in Carlisle has arrived!
Carlisle United help launch Eden Valley's second Wiseman Welly Walk!
The players of Carlisle United are urging the people of Cumbria to give it some ‘welly for Eden Valley’ as the Wiseman Welly Walk returns, with the goal of beating the total raised last year!
Members of the squad have swapped their football boots for the famous Wiseman Wellies to launch the 2012 event with children from Stanwix School.
The first ever Wiseman Welly Walk raised over £15,000 for Eden Valley Hospice and was completed by over 300 people from all over Cumbria.
Brunton Park will play host to this year’s event which takes place on Sunday 22nd April. The 5km route will start at the east side of the ground and then on into Rickerby Park before finishing back at the stadium.
Captain, Paul Thirlwell said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Wiseman Welly Walk to Brunton Park. It’s set to be great day out for all the family and the funds will help Eden Valley Hospice go that extra mile for the communities of Cumbria.
“Last year’s event raised a tremendous amount and all the players are now challenging the ‘Blue Army’ to support the event by taking part to help beat the total that was raised last year. “
