freshnlo Pedal for Scotland
Duncan Shaw from the Riderz helped launch the 2010 freshnlo Pedal for Scotland with a little help from Bella the coo and her calf!
Last year’s event proved a great success as a record 7003 riders took part. This year, we are hoping to attract even more riders by expanding the event to appeal to cyclists of all ages and abilities.
The 2010 freshnlo Pedal for Scotland will feature 3 events:
The classic 51 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh ride, uses a mixture of closed roads, quiet back roads and cycle paths, with rest and food stops on the way (and plenty of chilled freshnlo of course!). The perfect challenge for both regular cyclists and for those who haven't cycled in a while - a few weeks training is enough to get in shape!
One for the keen road cyclist, a 100 mile route from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Expect some challenging climbs, great scenery and a route that will push your endurance to the limits!
A short off-road circuit around Glasgow Green for families, youngsters and new cyclists will give riders the opportunity to participate in a cycling event without any contact with traffic. There will be a host of music, entertainment and activities to ensure a great day out for all the family.
